🌎 About my shopping process for customers

This is a text about how my research and shopping process for clothes and accessories works.

I am Vanessa Versiani, a personal stylist with over forty years of professional experience in the fashion industry and over 30 years developing personal styles and serving clients from all over the world.

Personal image is a nonverbal communication tool. The main part of my work is to guide my clients on how to take care of their own image in an intentional and strategic way. Shopping is important, but secondary, in this process. That is why my work is usually done through annual contracts.

Learning how to use clothes, accessories, hair and makeup to enhance the best of your appearance and personality is more important than simply buying better clothes. But clients usually need to make some purchases to achieve their goals. Teaching clients how to use their images strategically according to their goals, whether for a party, a business meeting, etc., is also part of my work.

When researching and purchasing, I try to use the client's profile as a basis for choosing the brands I will research. I do not accept commissions from brands or stores. I accept sponsorships without any obligation to purchase, aiming to create partnerships that offer an excellent experience for my clients over time. I never buy fast fashion. I value my customers and fast fashion is trash for extremely insecure and/or stingy people. My customers deserve the best.

Because I value finish, fit and design, I am always looking to get to know small brands and luxury brands from all over the world that are not limited to the famous ones from large luxury conglomerates, which have been losing their identity in recent years. This way, I always have something different that I can present to customers. I also look at mid-range brands whose design is interesting when it makes sense for the customer profile.

I avoid making big purchases that generate major changes. Since it is a client training process, I make small changes each season so that the client gradually learns how to use their image strategically. Each season I add some key pieces, I make purchases to replace pieces that should be discarded because they are not aligned with the client's profile, and I add more information so that the client understands what I am suggesting, instead of simply wearing what I suggest like a child obeying his/her mother. I prefer to teach so that, over time, the client knows how to make their own choices. It is training for life. Most mothers are not able to offer this service because they do not have my qualifications or experience.

I always do the research myself, which saves the client a lot of time. I can do the shopping alone or with the client. It is recommended that the client be present when buying tailoring and shoes, so that we can observe the fit and comfort of the pieces, important adjustments, etc., but their presence is not necessary when buying casual clothing (t-shirts, most knitwear, accessories that are not shoes, etc.).
